Strengthening Water Sanitation and Hygiene (SWASH) in Adagom 1, Adagom 3 and Ukende Refugee Settlements in Ogoja Cross River State Nigeria

Rhema Care in partnership with the Malteser International in Nigeria implemented the Strengthening Water Sanitation and Hygiene (SWASH) project for Cameroonian Refugees settlements in Ogoja Cross River State Nigeria. The goal of the project was to improve access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Cameroonian Refugees and host communities in Ogoja Cross River State, thereby improving the protection situation and restoring the dignity of Cameroonian refugees.

The project targeted 3 refugee settlements in Ogoja LGA, Cross River State Viz. Adagom 1, Ukende and Adagom 3. As a step towards achieving the objectives of the project. Rhema Care implemented a number of activities including engagement with stakeholders through social mobilization, , provision of of portable water for drinking and domestic use through construction of solar   borehole, provision of sanitation facilities such as latrines and bathing facilities, hygiene awareness, provision of dignity kits, capacity building  oof community volunteers and relevant stakeholders.
