Rhema Care Integrated Development Centre with funding from USAID through Health Initiatives for Safety and Stability (HIFASS) implemented the community-based “Local Partners for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria – Region 3 (LOPIN-3) Project”, in 5 wards of Akpabuyo and Calabar South Local Government Areas of Cross River State. Rhema Care worked within the context of overall LOPIN-3 goal: – To contribute to improved quality of life for families of vulnerable children and orphans due to HIV and AIDS. The intervention sought to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS on children and families by supporting provision of integrated quality care, protection and support services to OVCs in Cross River state. In line with this objective, the project strived to achieve the following results: 1: To improve systems and structures at LGAs and communities to ensure provision of quality care, protection and support services to OVC and their households. 2: To support improved structural and technical capacities of community-based and local government institutions to provide OVC care and support services in Cross River
