Helping our Community Rise Project was implemented by Rhema Care in Cross River State in partnership with Union Bank Nigeria in one of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project in 2021. The project provided most vulnerable Households and young people in Akpabuyo communities (Bakassi Infernally Displaced Persons) with livelihood skill acquisition through Trainings and small grant for business owners in Ikot Eyo, Akpabuyo LGA Cross River State. The beneficiaries’ capacity were built on key issues like Business management, Financial literacy, Gender based violence (GBV), STIs and HIV/AIDS among other related issues. Their knowledge were deepened Sexual and Gender based Violence and access for response system in the LGA and State.
The project trained 20 persons with skills of their choice (traditional and non-traditional skills) in their community. The most vulnerable Household’s businesses were supported with small grant to improve the Households business and a health package was added to the project for a balanced intervention.
