Cash Grant to Schools in the Municipalities of Babadjou (West Region) and Melong (Littoral Region) Exposed to and/or Affected by the Security Crises in the North West and South West Regions.

The Edu-Grants Project was implemented by Rhema Care (Cameroun) and COHEB International as a consortium in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic Education (MINEDUB) with support from UNICEF. This project worked with 31 public primary schools in Babadjou Municipality (West Region) and 60 in Melong municipality (Littoral Region) totaling 91 schools. About 20,859 pupils comprising10,697 boys and 10,162 girls benefited from this intervention, with about 2,229 (11%) of the beneficiary children coming from IDP families. The overall goal of the project was to improve access to education for displaced children and children of host communities in the Municipalities of Babadjou and Melong. The general objective of the project was to provide cash subsidies to schools in the Municipalities of Babadjou and Melong affected by or exposed to security crises to make them more resilient and attractive to children.
