Rhema Care Integrated Development Centre (RIDEC) is a Faith-based, not-for-profit, non-governmental development organization with working in partnership with the poor and vulnerable to improve on their quality of life through promotion of social transformation, economic empowerment and environmental sustainability of deprived communities in Africa.   Rhema Care is implementing Strengthening Water Sanitation and Hygiene (SWASH) project in Cross River State.   Rhema Care seeks to engage qualified; purpose driven and result oriented person to fill the vacant position of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Officer.

Position: Wash Officer (1 Person)
Location: Ogoja, Cross River

Overview
The WASH Field Officer will be working with the Project Manager to develop detailed, site-specific work plan to ensure technical and professional assessment of water supply and construction project activities within Ogoja Host Community and Refugee Settlements.

Duties and Responsibilities

•         The staff will be responsible for the SWASH project, provide engineering and technical advice on SWASH, support water test analysis/treatment.
•         Monitor and supervise the quality of the construction of sanitation facilities in the site.
•         Supervise and monitor drilling of borehole and reticulation of water points within the settlement.
•         He/She will provide support to SWASH team on the hardware components of the SWASH program including construction of and drilling/rehabilitation of water points, bathing shelters and latrines especially in the areas of drawing/design, and BOQ development.
•         The officer will also be ensuring the inclusiveness of all safety/privacy/protection issues in all the SWASH facilities constructed at the field level.
•         Maintaining an accurate record and taking proper care of all field equipment and material stocks related to SWASH.
•         Assist in hygiene promotion activities
General Requirements
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Hydrogeology. Professional license is an added advantage. Minimum of two years’ experience in water supply and sanitation project supervision, or construction management, with a preference for work within humanitarian sector
