Rhema Care is seeking applications from qualified volunteers and interns who want to provide pro-bono services and
build valuable capacity in working with an NGO in both humanitarian and development contexts in our West, Littoral and
South West Regional Offices based in Bafoussam, Melong and Buea respectively to apply for the following vacancies:
1. Programme Assistant – Health (5 positions per location) – with a background Health Sciences including nursing, midwifery, nutrition, medicine, laboratory science, microbiology, biochemistry, biological science, etc.
2. Programme Assistant – Education (5 positions per location) – with background in Education/ Teaching, special education, etc.
3. Programme Assistant – Livelihoods (5 positions per location) – with background in agriculture, economics, cooperative management, banking and micro-finance, entrepreneurship, business management, etc
4. Programme Assistant – Protection (5 positions per location) – with background in social sciences including law, psychology, counselling, sociology, gender studies or conflict studies, etc.
5. Programme Assistant – Monitoring, Evaluation and data/information management – (5 positions per location) – with background in computer sciences, geography, mathematics, sociology, communications, etc.
6. Finance and Admin Assistant – (3 positions per location) – with background in accounting, banking and finance, enterprise and business management, etc.
7. Human Resource (HR) Assistant – (2 positions per location) with background in human resource management, enterprise and business management, etc.
8. Reporting and Communications Assistant – (3 positions per Location) – background in journalism,
Communications, English/French Language, Bilingual Letters, Graphic Designing, etc.
9. Office Assistant – (2 positions per location) – with background in secretarial studies, arts, sciences, languages, literature, computer science, business administration, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Programme Assistants: Bachelor’s Degree, HND or professional certification (including Teachers’ Training Grade 1 Certificate). A Master’s degree and ability to use computers, speak/write both English and French will be an added advantage. GCE A’ levels with at least 2 years of experience with an NGO will be considered.
2. Finance and Admin Assistants: Bachelor’s Degree, HND or professional certification. A Master’s degree, ACCA and ability to use computers, speak/write both English and French will be an added advantage. GCE A’ levels with at least 2 years of experience with an NGO will be considered.
3. Human Resource Assistants: Bachelor’s Degree, HND or professional certification. A Master’s degree and ability to use computers, speak/write both English and French will be an added advantage. GCE A’ levels with at least 2 years of experience with an NGO will be considered.
4. Reporting and Communications Assistants: Bachelor’s Degree, HND or professional certification. A Master’s degree and ability to use computers, graphic designing, photography, speak/write both English and French, effective use of social media (twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Web Designing, etc. will be an added advantage. GCE A’ levels with at least 2 years of experience with an NGO will be considered.
5. Office Assistants: GCE A’ levels or GCE O’ levels with at least 1 year of working experience or volunteering in an office setting will be considered.
APPLICATION:
Interested candidates should submit an application letter and a CV (with at least 2 referees included) to hrm.cmr@rhemacare.org on or before Friday 18th August 2023 by 5 pm. Applications submitted later than this deadline will not be considered for the current batch of volunteer and internship recruitments, except applied through a university academic internship programme.
Note that these are not regular staff recruitments but unpaid volunteer/internship recruitments which are intended for capacity building and career development with no financial benefits attached. However, there will be reimbursements of transportation and other costs related to field work and other official assignments. All successful volunteers will receive a certificate of service at the end of their service and will be entitled to a letter of professional reference from Rhema Care when required.
Successfully selected volunteers/interns will be given an offered letter and will be required to sign a volunteering agreement/contract of one (1) year with Rhema Care. They will also benefit from several professional training opportunities, and will be required to put in a minimum of 10 hours of work every week: Monday – Friday (minimum of
2 hours a day and minimum of 2 days a week: Mon – Fri). Successful applicants will be contacted by e-mail on Tuesday 22nd August and will resume at the respective Rhema Care Offices by 8 am on Fri Sept. 1, 2023 at Buea, Tue Sept 5 at Melong and Fri. Sept. 8 at Bafoussam. They will undergo an induction training and get a clear job description upon
resumption. All volunteers are expected to comply with Rhema Care volunteer policies and code of conduct, including zero tolerance for sexual exploitation and abuse, and compliance with the anti-corruption and child protection policies, etc.
